Description
My involvement with the APMF dates to 2005 and the first conference at Le Meridien hotel in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia. While I was not present at the birth of the process, I was actively involved by the final stages of preparation for that first conference. I remember thinking – at last, Indonesia is capable of staging an internationalcaliber advertising conference, after a vacuum period that stretches back to the time of AdAsia in Bali in 1995. I had been asked by a senior figure in advertising whom I greatly respected, namely the APMF 2005 chairman Gunadi Sugiharso, to serve as finance director of the Association of Asia Pacific Advertising Media (AAPAM), the organization behind the APMF. For the preparation of that second APMF until 2008, I served as finance director.
With three APMFs behind me, I felt it was time to broaden my involvement. One thing I feel was that my passion and enthusiasm to be involved in this not for profit organization have never failed me. To serve in the APMF committee is a labor of love, and I know that each one of us is addicted to holding and running the conference. The APMF is more than just a networking event – it is a series of experience that opens our eyes to many developments and trends that take place throughout the world.
