Missing Indonesia
Rp90.000
Through this book, the Japanese wanderer Hisanori Kato shares his private experiences. There are one thousand and one other “oddities” which he discovered as a two-time temporary resident of Indonesia. Respectfully speaking, he still can’t wrap his mind around why Indonesians, seen through his Japanese lens at least, don’t seem to appreciate time; or how they tend to think “bagaimana nanti”—let’s just see what happens later—rather than “nanti bagaimana”—what will happen if I don’t do it now. Kato-san is now back home, in Japan. But he can never forget every soul he met in Indonesia. He still misses the warung near his rented house, which he often visited. Jakarta has become his second hometown.
